Compared to years gone by it was nice. There was no fighting, no yelling, no screaming or bottle breaking. No drunken fights, stories or break-ups. Yep, the cops did not make it this year to our family thanksgiving, so boys in blue if you haven't figured it out yet: we are learning to act normal, or at least civilized!
20 people flooded into our home for Thanksgiving. Cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and great grandmother were all there. It was a hidge podge of Steve's family and mine, and I think secretly a gathering place for the over 60 and single crowd! This year we put all the food on the table and ate and passed the food up and down both sides of the 20 person table! It was cool. After stuffing our faces with excellent American Thanksgiving food and Greek eats we found room for some pie and even celebrated Vaughan's birthday a week early!
What a wonderful way to welcome in the holiday season. Thank you Lord for our family, where we've come from and what we've come through; for love and forgiveness, for understanding and grace. I thank You Lord that you have taken a mess and made it shine for Your glory! Praise You!
