Week Three

A Woman After God’s Own Heart

Ephesians 6:18 (Message)
“In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. ”

So, week two of spending time seeking God's Heart.

This week was on prayer. I know your time is valuable so I'll be quick today. Discontentment can haunt us, the voices in our heads tell us what we have and who we are are not "good enough". A passion for prayer and the habit of prayer can drastically change the nagging of discontentment. Prayer changes our focus, allowing the heart of what God values become real in our own lives.

On page 36 (53-54 in book) you will find tips or ways to help you in improving your prayer life. Take a moment to go over and read these.

I was given a prayer journal in 2006 and it has changed my prayer life. I journal praises, thanks, requests and confessions in my journal. Last week I needed some encouragement and looking back over answered pray did just that! It is a simple small 3-ring binder and it sits in my box of "spiritual aids" next to the chair I do my Bible study in.

This is not funny, my book still has not come. I may have to see if there is a store in the area. I ordered online. Perhaps I have too many irons in the fire right now. I am open and spiritually needy since we have not dug in to a local church since moving.

2.yep, i'm over the forcing myself and looking forward to it..
3.philippians 4:4-7
what stood out to me in the familiar verse was the word gentleness.
let your gentleness be evident to all.
sometimes reminding myself to behave only in love gets old.. that sounds bad, but i really do need to mix things up. a few years ago when the word relentless was put on my heart through the book, by brenning manning. i could respond and act on this. so for this week and maybe months i am going to bring this to mind GENTLENESS.
4.I LIKE YOUR BOX. mmm i need to work on this. i'm very unorganized. always wondering now where is that verse in the bible...
5.clear things out with others. i need to act on this one. not from a wrong done. but to clearify my actions as a christian, sometimes when we choose what we know is right for us, it may not look on the outside to someone involved as the moral thing to do... if that makes sense, either way i need to hold myself accountable to share my walk with God otherwise what sence will it make to an unbeliever who knows not the Lords ways of relentless, gentle love.
